Vacation

Project Overview

Vacation is a self-initiated experiential retail concept exploring how the brand's playful, nostalgic identity could be translated into a physical environment.

Inspired by retro beach clubs, summer travel, and leisure culture, the space was designed to transform Vacation's visual identity into an immersive customer journey. Rather than creating a traditional retail display, the concept encourages visitors to discover products through interactive moments, sculptural merchandising, and shareable experiences that extend the brand beyond packaging.

Custom Display Elements

Rather than using standard retail fixtures, I designed bespoke display pieces inspired by the brand's products and visual identity.

Sunscreen Bottle Pedestals

The circular display plinths were designed to echo the silhouette of Vacation's sunscreen bottles. By scaling this recognisable product shape into architectural display furniture, the product itself becomes part of the spatial language of the experience.

Whip Cocktail Display

One of Vacation's signature products, Whip, has a playful whipped-cream inspired identity. I incorporated cocktail-inspired displays and serving moments to reinforce that visual language and create memorable product storytelling throughout the space.

Beach Club Environment

To immerse visitors in the Vacation world, I incorporated visual references commonly associated with luxury summer destinations, including:

  • Blue-and-white striped beach umbrellas

  • Rolled beach towels

  • Sunglasses and beach accessories

  • Palm trees

  • Warm sunset-inspired color palette

  • Curved architectural forms influenced by coastal resorts

These elements work together to create a retail experience that feels more like a destination than a store.

Design Intent

The goal of this project was to demonstrate how strong brand identities can be translated into memorable physical experiences through spatial design.

Rather than simply displaying products, the concept explores how architecture, custom fixtures, materials, and storytelling can work together to create an immersive retail environment that encourages interaction, product discovery, and social sharing.
